About Us

Diane Dawson

The Diane Dawson Foundation was established in 2003 in memory of Gail Diane Dawson. Diane was born and raised in Englewood, Colorado yet called Roseville and Granite Bay, California her home since 1993. She was constantly volunteering her time at her church, local schools and community events.

She cherished her family and friends, and her love and encouragement touched many. Her greatest joy was her two sons, Brad and Josh, and her dream was that they discover their gifts and talents, and become all that they can be.

Her passion and love for her children, family, friends, and community were the inspiration for this foundation. It is this passion, which the foundation seeks to support in others. Through efforts of family and friends, Diane’s love of life and community lives on.

Board of Directors

Scott Headshot

Scott Dawson is Founder and Executive Director of the Diane Dawson Foundation.    He and his family established this organization in 2003 in honor of his first wife Diane who at age of 41 died of cancer.  His two sons Brad and Josh were both in high school at the time, and they inspired Scott to set up a scholarship fund to help other deserving students achieve their dreams.  He currently resides in Arvada, Colorado with his wife Julie and loves spending time with his family and friends.

Bob Espinosa

Bob Espinosa, Director Denver Events: Diane was Bob's Sister-In-Law. When her sons suggested that her family start a scholarship for other students who also lost a parent to cancer, he thought what a great way to honor Diane. When you read the students stories and see how they have over come such a tragedy you want to do anything in your power to help them. This is the main goal of the Diane Dawson Foundation. Bob is most proud of the fact that in the past 12 years, the Diane Dawson Foundation has been able to award 65 scholarships.
